D’ORNANO-VALENTI Award In the framework of the Deauville American Film Festival

Since 2009 the Franco-American Cultural Fund (FACF) has participated in the Deauville American Film Festival to grant the Michel d’Ornano Award dedicated to the memory of the former minister, mayor of Deauville and co-founder of the Deauville American Film Festival.

In 2015 it was renamed the D’Ornano-Valenti Award in tribute to Jack Valenti, one of the FACF’s founding members representing the MPA (Motion Picture Association) and initiator of this prize.

The prize rewards a first French film to boost its recognition, promotion and exportation. It is awarded by a jury of English-language journalists.

« The d’Ornano-Valenti Award, financed by the FACF, has revealed some top quality films. The award fulfills its purpose by giving them a boost: we help with subtitles and launch their film in the U.S. at the COLCOA Festival. »
Anne d’Ornano, former Mayor of Deauville, Honorary President of the Deauville American Film Festival
