Eric Heisserer

Eric Heisserer is a screenwriter, producer, director and showrunner known most recently for the film Bird Box and the YA fantasy series Shadow and Bone. His film Arrival was a critical and box office success, earning Eric an Academy Award nomination as well as a Critics’ Choice Award and WGA Award for best adaptation. Eric grew up in Oklahoma, where his father tenured as a professor of ancient history for OU. Eric’s first job out of high school was for a NASA subcontractor.
