Laura Blum-Smith
Assistant Executive Director of Research & Policy at the WGAW
Laura Blum-Smith is an Assistant Executive Director for the Writers Guild of America West, overseeing the Guild’s Research & Public Policy, Political, Organizing, Communications, and Inclusion & Equity programs. A graduate of Oberlin College, Laura previously led the Guild’s Research and Public Policy department for six years, including through the 2023 strike. Laura has worked at the Guild through four negotiations, and her work has included advocating for increased competition in the entertainment and telecommunications industries along with strategic research in support of union campaigns.
